Police to Prosecute Errant 31st Night ‘Doom Prophecy’ Prophets

IGP George Akuffo Dampare

The Ghana Police Service has stated that it has initiated steps to ascertain whether or not some video footages it has received of pastors prophesying on December 31, 2021 had the potential to cause fear and panic among members of the public.
According to a statement sighted by GhanaWeb , men of God found to have acted in breach of the Police Service caution against doom prophecies will be hauled be the courts.
“Following this initiative, multiple video footages have come to our attention regarding the communication of prophecies on the night of 31st December, 2021.

“Police have begun analysing these videos to ascertain whether any of them is in breach of the laws of the country and anybody found culpable will be put before court,” part of the statement read.

The police service in a statement ahead of last year’s 31st December watch night service issued a stern warning to Men of God to desist from prophecies that will cause fear and panic.

Citing the country’s laws, it said that, “it is a crime for a person to publish or reproduce a statement, rumour or report which is likely to cause fear and alarm to the public or to disturb the public peace, where that person has no evidence to prove that the statement, rumour or report is true.”

It also noted that persons found to be on the wrong side of this law could be liable to a 5-year term of imprisonment.

31st December in the country is usually characterised by doom prophecies by some renowned men of God.

Apologize to Nigerians — Nollywood actor Yul Edochie tells Shatta Wale

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has responded to Shatta Wale’s “fuck Nigerians” statement made during his December 25 concert at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The concert which was headlined by Shatta Wale and rapper Medikal, attracted thousands of fans and featured guests performances from several up-and-coming artistes.

However, two days after the show, Shatta Wale is receiving heavy condemnations for saying “fuck Nigerians” during his performance.

Read Yul Edochie’s statement posted via his official Facebook page:

Dear Shatta Wale, coming out to say ‘Fuck Nigerian artistes’ that’s extreme and too low for a man like you. That’s hate. I remember when Nigerian movie producers were giving all the lead roles to Ghanaian actors, a few years back, no Nigerian ever came out to say ‘Fuck Ghanaian actors’. I have lots of fans from Ghana who send me goodwill messages daily, inviting me to Ghana andl appreciate all of them. I’m a fan of your music. Your track with Beyonce is always on repeat in my car. No matter what is pissing you off a man like you with a large fan base should be using it to promote peace and unity among Africans and the rest of the world. You should apologise for such a statement.

If I had the power I would legalize we•d instead of prostitution and sodomy – Sista Afia

Sister Afia

Popular Ghanaian singer, Sista Afia, born, Fransisca Gawugah has stated that she would legalize the use of marijuana instead of prostitution and  LGBTQ if she’s given the opportunity.

In Ghana, almost everyone is talking about the legalization of weed and LGBTQ but the government has turned a blind eye to it especially marijuana.

Although marijuana has been legalized for industrial purposes that are being regulated by the Narcotic Control Commission in the country but consuming it is highly frowned upon.

Same as the legalization of LGBTQ in the country, there’s even an anti-LGBT Bill in parliament to criminalize it hence gays and lesbians are looking at relocating to other countries as this will pose a serious threat to them if the bill it’s finally accepted.

Well, Sista Afia in a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM emphasized that when she’s given the opportunity she would rather legalize the herbs as it’s widely used by the men but for the act of sodomy she also frowns on it

Akuapem Poloo’s press conference was useless, it could land her in bigger trouble” – Halifax Ansah

Entertainment pundit, Halifax Ansah Addo has described the press conference put up by Akuapem Poloo yesterday following her bail as “useless and risky.”

According to him, Akuapem Poloo didn’t need to be speaking publicly to the media since her case is still substantive.

Speaking to Abeiku Santana on UTV’s United Showbiz Show last night, Halifax Ansah Addo said Akuapem Poloo did wrong by organizing a press conference to speak about a very delicate issue that is still pending in court.

The radio presenter intimated that Akuapem Poloo could be shooting herself in the foot and putting herself in an obscure situation by holding that press conference which could have dire legal ramifications.

Halifax Ansah Addo believes the press conference has no bearing on the court case and the content of what Akuapem Poloo said was grave.

“The press conference was only useful to the media but it was totally useless to the substantive case in the court. It is even risky looking at the content of what our sister [Akuapem Poloo] said at the press conference,” he said.
