He’s not a prophet or a soothsayer. But Dennis Nana Dwamena who performs under the stage name KiDi believes Ghana is not close to winning a Grammy.
Its been sixty years since the inception of the Grammy Awards and no Ghanaian artiste has ever won any of the coveted award.
Fuse ODG and Killbeatz got mentioned for their contributions in co-writing and producing Ed Sheeran’s album which won Best Pop Vocal Album.
Rocky Dawuni who was nominated in the category of ‘Reggae Album’ in 2015 unfortunately, he lost it out.

In a chat with Ghana Weekend TV recently, monitored , the ‘Say You Love Me’ crooner asserted that Ghana does not have international recognition to get the attention of the organizers of Grammys.
He was emphatic with his submission that;“We’re not close. We’re not. I mean that’s the truth. We’ll like to be close but we have a lot of work to do”
The Lynx Entertainment recording artist added;“One of our challenges is getting a presence internationally. Getting to make a statement out there. We need to start to fix some internal issues and when we go out there we need to make a presence.”
KiDi in his ending remarks noted that it is a step by step thing and Ghana will get there but he does not think as at now we’re close.
