Ghanaian’s troll Wendy Shay for missing lines in popular gospel song

Social media trends for some obvious reasons developed some empathy for Ruff Town Recordz signee, Wendy Shay who had for several weeks topped trends for all the negative reasons.

A few of such instances include; her inappropriate choice of clothes when YEA ambassadors paid a courtesy visit to former President John Agyekum Kufuor earlier this year and her wardrobe malfunctions at the BF Suma concert in 2018, Commonwealth hall celebrations week as well as the Golden Movie Awards both in 2019.

Well, this time Wendy Shay was on point with her choice of apparel but in the words of Kofi Kinaata, the “part-time Christian” missed some lyrics in a very popular gospel song.

Many Ghanaians who found their way to social media to react to the rather short snippet of the singer’s performance, could not find a way to comprehend how the singer missed the lyrics in the song.

The original lyrics which is known to be “Ancient of days as old as you are,” was rather “Ancient of days how old as you are,” in Wendy Shay’s version, according to some Twitter users.

It is not yet clear whether Wendy Shay was trying to ad-lib as she is yet to respond to the rising ‘heat’ on social media.

But as at 6 am on Tuesday, November 20, 2019, Wendy Shay was already trending number one on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the concert at which the singer made the blunder is not yet known.

Sarkodie doesn’t play any role in my career now – Akwaboah

Ghanaian crooner, Gladstorm Akwaboah, has reacted to reports that he has left Sarkodie’s record label, SarkCess Music.

About a week ago, rumors were rife that the ‘Gangsta Lovin’ singer had landed a new record deal after severing his relationship with Sarkodie and his label.

Speaking to Nana Tuffour on Citi TV’s Saturday Live, Akwaboah said his contract with Sarkodie had elapsed but he was yet to finalize things with him so he could officially inform the public that he has left the label.

When asked what role Sarkodie currently plays in his music career, he said: “I wouldn’t say he plays any role now but he once gave me the advice to be me and that has really helped me.”

When asked if he was still with Sark, he said “no”.

“We have a deal and I wouldn’t want to spearhead it [the announcement of the break-up] myself. I want us to finish everything that we are doing then officially announce it,” he noted.

“I am not with Sarkodie because I am doing stuff for myself on my own now. Our contract was three years so we’ve gotten to the point where we are yet to find out whether to continue or break off,” Akwaboah added.

Reports suggest that Akwaboah exited SarkCess Music Record label even before Strongman did.

Akwaboah, who is also a songwriter, was responsible for writing about 90% of the songs on Sarkodie’s ‘Mary album.

After releasing his maiden album ‘Matters of the Heart’ in 2018, he is currently out with a single titled ‘Gangsta Lovin.’

He is also known for songs such as ‘I Do Love You’, ‘Mesan Agye Wo’, ‘Naadu’, among others.
