Google to integrate Ghana’s GPS into its map system – Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has revealed that government has entered an agreement with tech giant, Google, to incorporate Ghana’s GPS address system in its mapping system.

According to Dr. Bawumia, the agreement was reached after Google certified Ghana’s addressing system.

He made the disclosure at the opening of the YouthConnekt Africa Summit in Accra.

Addressing the youth, the Vice President opined that government is using technology to solve many of the challenges facing the country.

“We have engaged google since last year and we have now obtained the agreement because they have to go through technical processes to evaluate our GPS digital system and so by the end of this year, goggle have agreed to allow us to integrate our digital address system into google maps. So people can use them here in Ghana,” he said.

“We moved from there to address the problem of the fact that so many people, including a lot of the youth, don’t have bank accounts and therefore are excluded from the financial system” he added.

‘You have power over your own destiny, not anointing oil and stickers’ – Kennedy Agyapong

Ghanaian lawmaker and business magnate, Kennedy Agypaong has charged Christians to take their own destiny into their hands instead of relying heavily on anointing oil and spiritual stickers.

While speaking on Net 2 TV, the maverick politician said anointing oil, stickers, armband, and others cannot create one’s future.

In his words, he said: “Anointing oil, stickers that you take from your pastor or prophet cannot create your future…Prophet cannot create your future”.

He continued: “You have to be creative and create your future… Future is not something you can just enter into. You create, build and enjoy it”.

“So the mentality of using a shortcut to make money is a horrible attitude that we need to change. You have to work, you have to think”, he added.

The Assin Central MP further asked people to always strive for the best.

‘Someone will say I am greedy, it is not that I am greedy…my head is always aching me because of the plans I have in my head. My money is not enough to accomplish my plans but after building one house, and so what, does it mean that is the end of life? he quizzed.
